1428 Brickell, will be world's first high-rise residential tower using photovoltaic glazing

The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a 70-story condo building in Miami, has converted reservations into contracts and is currently seeking permits to commence construction.

The project, developed by Ytech subsidiary 1428 Brickell LLC, has received an approval recommendation from the Urban Development Review Board. The building will be the first high-rise residential tower in the world to be partially powered by solar energy, utilizing photovoltaic glazing within the façade.

Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS and Arquitectonica, the tower will feature 189 luxury homes and is slated for completion in 2027. The solar energy system is expected to produce up to 170 megawatts of clean energy per year, reducing CO2 emissions and oil usage.
