Diners can enjoy dishes ranging from nigiri to Miso Black Cod and a Wagyu filet, with each bite elevating the culinary adventure.

Located at the corner of 8th Avenue South and 800 Clark Place, 888 has a private entrance marked by a red light. Inside, guests are transported to a space that melds creative and culinary boundaries, offering an intimate and communal dining experience, much like listening to a mixtape unfold in real-time. The concept draws inspiration from Japan’s traditional Jazz kissas, where patrons would gather for a blend of food and high-fidelity music.

888 features a carefully crafted menu led by Sushi Chef Deden “Benny the Blade” Bandi, a sushi master with over 20 years of experience. Benny, who has worked with iconic chefs such as Nobu Matsuhisa of Nobu, has also served as a private chef for stars like Mick Jagger, Jennifer Lopez, and Cameron Diaz. Signature offerings include nigiri, maki, donabe fried rice, and hot karaage, while the beverage program showcases a selection of craft beers, rare whiskies, and premium sake from Japan.

The venue’s acoustics and sound system are a collaboration between renowned designers Steven Durr Designs, Soundlux Audio, and Devon Turnbull, also known as OJAS. Durr, a Nashville native, has worked with top artists like Taylor Swift and Lenny Kravitz, while his studio designs are featured in famed places like Electric Lady and Fame Studios. The sound system at 888 is a tribute to music lovers, with vintage-inspired Altec Lansing speakers, technics 1200MK turntables, and amplifiers, creating a sonic environment cherished by audiophiles.
