The restaurant’s name reflects its deep-rooted familial connections. MIKA serves as an Italian nickname for Michael, but it is also the name of Alex Pirez’s daughter—a fitting tribute to the sense of family that defines both the restaurant’s ambiance and philosophy.

At MIKA, White presents a menu that reflects his love for Mediterranean flavors while incorporating innovative ingredients. Crudos highlight delicate pairings such as langoustines with caviar and scallops with gooseberries, while house-made pastas pay homage to Italy with dishes like tagliatelle with ragu Bolognese. Local seafood, including Key West shrimp and stone crabs, further reinforces the connection between South Florida’s coastal abundance and the Mediterranean’s rich culinary traditions.
