Located on the former site of the World Woods Golf Club, the 1,200-acre property has been incredibly transformed since its acquisition by Cabot in 2022, offering a blend of modern innovation and homage to the site’s natural beauty.

Situated just 50 minutes from Tampa and 80 minutes from Orlando, Cabot Citrus Farms brings the Cabot Collection’s world-renowned excellence to the U.S. for the first time. Notably, it has also earned its rank as the #1 golf course by Golf Courses of Tomorrow.

The centerpiece of the property is the two 18-hole courses: Karoo and Roost. Karoo features wide Bermuda fairways, expansive greens, and bold contours, the course encourages creative play and offers a journey full of adventure. Its architectural audacity has garnered significant acclaim, landing it at No. 42 on Golfweek’s list of the top 200 resort courses in the U.S.

Roost, co-designed by Mike Nuzzo and Kyle Franz with guidance from Ran Morrissett and Rod Whitman, offers a nostalgic nod to Old Florida. The course winds through moss-draped live oaks and sandy scrubland, incorporating dramatic 50-foot elevation changes and even a 40-foot-deep sinkhole. Its layout celebrates the natural topography and creates an experience that is both challenging and serene.

In addition to the main courses, Cabot Citrus Farms features two shorter layouts: The Wedge and The Squeeze. The Wedge is an 11-hole par-3 course with speakers and low-profile lighting, adding a fun and modern twist to the golfing experience. The Squeeze, a nine-hole course with a mix of par-3s, par-4s, and par-5s, provides a unique, non-traditional playstyle. The property also includes a two-acre putting course and a high-tech driving range equipped with Trackman technology.

The Cottages at Cabot Citrus Farms

Beyond golf, Cabot Citrus Farms offers luxurious accommodations and real estate. Visitors can stay in rental cottages starting at $1,250 per night through June 2025, while those seeking a permanent presence can explore properties starting at $1.675 million for cottages and $3.7 million for fairway homes.

The development includes a variety of top-tier amenities, such as The Porch relaxation area, Grange Hall dining and social space, a pro shop, and a sporting club. Additional features, including tennis, pickleball, padel courts, and pools, are slated to open later this year.

Since its inception in 2012 with the renowned Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, the Cabot Collection has grown into a global leader in luxury golf destinations. With properties in Saint Lucia, Scotland, France, and Canada, as well as investments in Norway and the management of courses across the U.S., Cabot’s reputation for creating world-class experiences continues to soar.
