Nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s vibrant Flatiron District, Chef Daniel Boulud’s newest culinary masterpiece, La Tête d’Or by Daniel, has quickly become a beacon for food enthusiasts from near and far. Officially opening its doors in November 2024, this steakhouse offers an exquisite fusion of classic New York steakhouse traditions and Chef Boulud’s signature French flair. Located at 318 Park Avenue South within the prestigious One Madison Avenue tower, the restaurant’s prime location, overlooking Madison Square Park, makes it a standout in the city’s dynamic dining scene.
The name La Tête d’Or pays homage to Chef Boulud’s hometown of Lyon, France, drawing a bridge between his French roots and his illustrious career in New York. As the Michelin-starred chef’s first steakhouse, the venue celebrates timeless culinary traditions with a contemporary twist. "An excellent steak and a great sauce—simple yet universal pleasures—need precision and soul," Boulud remarked. At La Tête d’Or, the wood-fired grill takes center stage, showcasing premium cuts of meat, seafood, and French-inspired specialties.
Designed by the acclaimed Rockwell Group, La Tête d’Or seamlessly blends French brasserie charm with contemporary elegance. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by a double-height glass façade that glows warmly against Madison Avenue’s bustling backdrop. Inside, the ambiance is one of understated luxury, with deep blue tones, plush velvet banquettes, and softly padded walls offset by dark wood and high ceilings.
The open kitchen, featuring a wood-burning grill, acts as the restaurant’s heartbeat, surrounded by walnut wood flooring, ebony parquetry, and silk-look upholstered walls. Artistic flourishes, such as the decorative hood crafted in collaboration with Belgian artist Jesse Willems, add a unique touch. For intimate occasions, private dining areas offer exclusivity with sliding doors, custom murals, and views of the iconic Met Life Tower.
La Tête d’Or was developed in partnership with SL Green, the visionary developer behind One Madison Avenue. This collaboration builds on the success of Chef Boulud’s previous ventures with SL Green, including the acclaimed Le Pavillon and Jōji at One Vanderbilt. "New Yorkers have always loved a world-class steakhouse, and we are certainly aiming to bring them one to take note of," said Sebastien Silvestri, CEO of the Dinex Group.
Since its opening, La Tête d’Or has captivated the city’s culinary enthusiasts and become a destination for both locals and visitors. The restaurant’s seamless blend of tradition, innovation, and luxury dining has solidified its place among Manhattan’s most distinguished eateries. Whether enjoying a perfectly executed steak, savoring a glass of Bordeaux, or simply taking in the opulent surroundings, every visit to La Tête d’Or is a celebration of taste and style.
