Cleveland Clinic, the nation's top-ranked heart care provider for 30 years and a globally renowned academic health system, has announced plans to expand its presence in Palm Beach County with a new hospital and outpatient facility. The new medical facility will be the city's first nonprofit research hospital and the first hospital to be built in the downtown area in over a century.
The initiative is supported by a $500 million fundraising campaign, which was announced during the annual Palm Beach Ball - a signature fundraising event supporting Cleveland Clinic’s medical programs in South Florida and beyond.
Cleveland Clinic has long served Palm Beach County through its outpatient center at CityPlace in West Palm Beach. Now, to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs, the organization is embarking on a significant expansion, which includes: A new three-story hospital, bringing 150 inpatient beds, an emergency department, a medical office building, and an ambulatory surgery center. The hospital will be built on newly acquired land next to Clear Lake in West Palm Beach at 400 and 450 S. Australian Avenue.
As well as also adding a larger outpatient center at 15 CityPlace, which is slated to begin construction in March. This 120,000-square-foot facility that will nearly quadruple the size of the existing Cleveland Clinic Health Center. Expanded services will include chemotherapy and infusion therapy, concierge medicine, imaging, endoscopy, and outpatient surgery.
The expansion is already gaining strong community support, with $100 million raised toward the $500 million goal.

The new hospital and outpatient center will be located just a few hundred yards apart, ensuring seamless coordination between facilities.

Cleveland Clinic Weston is ranked as the No. 1 hospital in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area, and its presence in Palm Beach County dates back to 2007, when it became the first out-of-state provider to open a West Palm Beach medical office.
