Dolly Parton has officially announced her plans to open a hotel and museum in downtown Nashville. Parton had previously purchased a downtown office building with the intention of converting it into a hotel, a plan that was confirmed by The Dollywood Co. but not formally announced until now.
During CMA Fest at the Music City Center, Parton revealed her plans, stating, “It’s true. I’m going to have a hotel right here in Nashville, and a museum too.” She introduced herself with her signature, "Hello, I'm Dolly," receiving a standing ovation and cheers from the crowd.
The hotel will be named Songteller Hotel and will feature a museum showcasing Parton’s fashion pieces and career artifacts. Parton expressed her long-held desire to have a hotel and museum in Nashville and shared her excitement about the project. She named the hotel Songteller after seeing her “Songteller” book at the property when she toured it.
Last year, Parton purchased the 211 Commerce building in downtown Nashville for $75 million. In May, she obtained a permit for full demolition of existing tenant construction and original building systems on nine levels of the 11-story tower, as per documents submitted to Metro.
