Downtown Orlando to get new Live Nation concert venue at Westcourt

Live Nation, a major player in the entertainment industry, is gearing up to manage a new 3,500-seat performance space within the Westcourt development in downtown Orlando. This project was highlighted by Mayor Buddy Dyer during the State of Downtown address on October 15 at the Kia Center, organized by the Downtown Orlando Partnership. The venue will be designed for a variety of events, from concerts and comedy acts to corporate gatherings and community functions.

Construction is slated to kick off in early 2025, with doors opening by 2027. The broader Westcourt development has been years in the making, originally conceived when the Orlando Magic began acquiring land in 2013. Formerly called the Sports + Entertainment District, the project was rebranded as Westcourt in April 2024.

Spanning 8.5 acres, Westcourt is being developed by a partnership including the Orlando Magic, JMA Ventures LLC from San Francisco, and Houston-based Machete Group, which joined forces with the Magic in 2023.

David Carlock, Machete Group’s founder, emphasized the venue’s "world-class" status, while Live Nation’s U.S. concerts co-president Jordan Zachary highlighted their excitement to join Orlando’s dynamic entertainment scene.

The first phase of Westcourt also includes a Kimpton hotel, which was announced in August. This hotel will feature 261 rooms across 11 floors, along with a restaurant, bar, cafe, pool, and over 16,000 square feet of meeting space.

Live Nation, headquartered in Beverly Hills, is also expanding its global footprint. In 2025, the company will manage the Allas Live venue in Helsinki, Finland, part of the Allas Sea Pool complex. Domestically, they plan to open another 3,500-seat venue in Portland in 2026, located near the Hawthorne Bridge.
