Brightline, the high-speed passenger train service between Orlando and Miami, has announced that it will offer free, high-speed WiFi powered by SpaceX's Starlink service to all its passengers.
This makes Brightline the first train service in the world to provide Starlink's broadband service. The WiFi service is currently available on Brightline's trains in south Florida and will be extended to the trains serving the Orlando area in the summer. Starlink's internet service, known for its low latency and high speed, is made possible by a network of satellites in low Earth orbit. Brightline's new Orlando Station, located at the Orlando International Airport, started selling September onwards tickets for hourly departures between Orlando and Miami. The company also offers two classes of service, SMART and PREMIUM, with PREMIUM passengers receiving additional amenities. Earlier this year, Brightline set a land speed record for the fastest train in the southeast, reaching speeds of 130 mph during testing.
