The Crown Building, an architectural icon in the heart of Manhattan, has found new life as Aman New York. Originally constructed in 1921, this 26-story structure stands at 416 feet tall, embodying the grandeur of early 20th-century New York City architecture. Its transformation into Aman’s first urban residential property marks a significant chapter for both the historic building and the renowned luxury brand.

Designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, Aman New York blends the building’s historic character with Aman’s modern, understated aesthetic. The property features 83 hotel suites and 22 private residences, offering a unique opportunity to experience Aman’s celebrated approach to hospitality and living. The residences, perched on the upper floors, provide sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and Central Park, making them some of the most sought-after addresses in the city.

A key highlight of Aman New York is its 25,000-square-foot Aman Spa. This comprehensive wellness facility includes a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, surrounded by fire pits and daybeds, creating a tranquil retreat from the city’s energy. Additional amenities include treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, sauna and steam rooms, and an outdoor terrace with cabanas and fireplaces, all designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation.

Arva, the property’s Italian restaurant, features seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine and a wraparound garden terrace with views of Central Park. These dining experiences are complemented by vibrant social venues, including a subterranean Jazz Club, a sophisticated Cigar Bar, and a curated Wine Library, catering to both intimate gatherings and lively evenings.

Originally named the Heckscher Building, the Crown Building has a storied history, reflecting New York City’s evolution over more than a century. Its distinctive gold dome and Beaux-Arts design made it a landmark from the start. Now, with Aman’s thoughtful restoration and reinvention, the building continues to stand as a symbol of innovation and elegance.
