Louis Vuitton opens its first United States restaurant, Le Café Louis Vuitton, in Midtown Manhattan

A stylish blend of luxury fashion and fine dining has made its way to Midtown Manhattan as Louis Vuitton debuts Le Café Louis Vuitton. Nestled on the fourth floor of their iconic 57th Street and Fifth Avenue flagship, this library-themed restaurant is a collaboration with renowned restaurateur Stephen Starr, the visionary behind New York hotspots like Le Coucou and Pastis. Doors officially opened on November 15, 2024, marking a new chapter in the intersection of high-end cuisine and designer branding.

Adorned with over 600 books and a sleek aesthetic, Le Café Louis Vuitton combines sophistication with approachability. The menu, curated under the direction of Chef Christophe Bellanca of Essential by Christophe, aims to redefine “luxury snacking.” Known for his Michelin-starred expertise, Bellanca crafts savory dishes that are refined yet accessible.

Designed by Shohei Shigematsu of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, the café’s entrance features a towering installation of Louis Vuitton trunks, a nod to the brand’s storied legacy. This attention to detail extends throughout, from the custom tableware to the staff uniforms, all overseen by Louis Vuitton’s creative team.

The menu is as striking as the setting, offering dishes like monogrammed waffles with caviar and crème fraîche, scallop soufflé, and black bass with razor clams.

This unique dining destination is set to operate for only a few years as Louis Vuitton’s Manhattan flagship undergoes a major transformation. The current store will be demolished and replaced with a larger space, though it remains unclear if Le Café Louis Vuitton will find a home in the new location.

For now, the café opens at noon on November 15, with reservations available via Resy.
