Later this year, the groundbreaking for a Marriott-branded W Hotel and concert venue will mark a significant addition to the area adjacent to Epic Universe. This luxury development, spearheaded by the Buccini/Pollin Group from Chevy Chase, Maryland, will feature a 22-story hotel tower and a range of amenities on a 10-acre site at the intersection of Universal Boulevard and Destination Parkway. Slated for completion in 2026, the project aims to cater to both tourists and locals with its 400 hotel rooms, 2,000-seat concert venue, 700-car parking garage, and diverse dining options, including two large restaurants.

Dave Pollin of the Buccini/Pollin Group highlighted the strategic location of the property, emphasizing the potential to attract the local population to its amenities, which will include five bars and restaurants and a unique "Living Room" bar and lounge known for its W brand's signature sophisticated designs. An innovative "adult pool" designed to function as both a day club and nightclub is expected to be a major draw, offering an active and fun environment for Orlando residents.
The hotel's commitment to providing a variety of experiences is evident in its plans for an additional rooftop pool catering to guests seeking a quieter atmosphere, possibly with waterpark-like features, and a nearly 30,000-square-foot music venue managed by a third-party operator. This venue is poised to become a vibrant hub for entertainment, hosting shows and events throughout the year, further enhancing the property's appeal as a premier destination for leisure and business travelers alike.
The project's design and development team includes well-known firms like Kimley-Horn, Cooper Carry, and LandDesign, working together to integrate the hotel and concert venue seamlessly into the bustling area near Epic Universe and the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management. BPG's first venture into the Orlando market is driven by the area's reputation as a top tourist destination and the anticipation of creating a space that resonates with both visitors and the local community.
With a 99-year ground lease secured for the site, BPG is eager to commence construction by the end of the year, aiming to complement the forthcoming Epic Universe park and explore potential collaborations with Universal and the nearby UCF Rosen College. The W Hotel Orlando is set to become a landmark in the area, offering an array of world-class amenities and entertainment options that underscore the city's dynamic and multifaceted appeal.
