Nashville International Airport (BNA) has secured its second nonstop European route, with Icelandair launching flights to Reykjavik starting May 16, 2025. Icelandair plans to operate the route four days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. This expansion comes amid a surge in international travel through the city, with over 1.6 million passengers passing through BNA in the last fiscal year, a 12% increase.

Icelandair’s new route will provide Nashville travelers with convenient access to Iceland, a popular tourist destination known for its stunning landscapes, geothermal activity, and vibrant culture. From Reykjavik, passengers can easily connect to other European cities, making BNA a more attractive gateway for international travel.
BNA has had nonstop European service since 2018, with British Airways operating daily flights to London. To attract more international flights, the airport has expanded its facilities and implemented incentives for airlines, including potential financial support from the state and tourism board.
The addition of Icelandair's route could increase competition and potentially lead to lower ticket prices for passengers seeking to travel to Europe from Nashville.
