One&Only is making its debut in the United States with the opening of One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana this summer. The 190-acre year-round alpine retreat is near Yellowstone National Park and offers direct access to Big Sky Resort's ski slopes while also providing a mixture of adventure and relaxation within its natural surroundings.
Designed by Olson Kundig, the property features 73 guestrooms and suites in the main lodge and 19 secluded villas throughout the landscape. Adding to its exclusivity, One&Only Moonlight Basin will introduce the first collection of One&Only Private Homes in the U.S., which includes 62 private residences and 8 private estates.
One&Only has partnered with Chenot to bring the first Chenot Spa to North America, offering science-based wellness and alternative therapies. This will be the first time the Chenot Method® will be available in the United States. Additional wellness facilities include a fitness center, indoor and outdoor training spaces, an outdoor heated pool, sauna, and hot tubs.
Guests will have access to a variety of year-round outdoor activities. During winter, they can enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Big Sky Resort, explore Nordic skiing and guided snowshoeing, or take part in dogsledding and other seasonal excursions. The resort will feature a dedicated gondola, and the Madison 8 chairlift, the longest eight-person lift in the world. Warmer months will bring opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, and golfing at The Reserve at Moonlight Basin, an 8,000-yard Jack Nicklaus-designed course. Excursions into Yellowstone National Park will also be available.
The resort will have six distinct restaurants and bars, each offering a different culinary experience, including Wildwood, serving local seasonal dishes, Dear Josephine Lounge with craft cocktails, and Moon Shack, a secluded whiskey bar. Sky Lodge, One&Only’s public ski lodge, opened in December 2024 and offers lunch, après-ski, and dinner services throughout the winter season.
One&Only Moonlight Basin combines carefully designed accommodations, exclusive private homes, world-class wellness, and a range of outdoor activities to create a distinct mountain retreat. The debut of this resort marks a major milestone for One&Only, introducing its brand of hospitality to the U.S. market in one of Montana’s most scenic destinations.
