Today, the announcement of a new high-end private club, The Elliott, has stirred excitement in Tampa. Set to be located at 500 E. Kennedy Blvd, the club will occupy a building designed by the esteemed M. Leo Elliott, a pivotal figure in Tampa's architectural history, known for his work on significant landmarks like Tampa City Hall and The Italian Club. The project is spearheaded by Courtney and Jason Kuhn of Kuhn Automotive Group, who are enthusiastic about honoring Tampa's heritage and the architectural contributions of Elliott.
The Elliott aims to be a luxury retreat, featuring a range of amenities including multiple fine dining options, several bars, a jazz lounge, a wellness center, and a luxurious spa with sauna, steam, and treatment rooms. Additional highlights will include a rooftop garden terrace, a cigar room, event spaces, and a racquets program. Construction is slated to begin this summer, with an anticipated opening in 2026.
Developers promise to unveil more details soon, including partnerships with internationally renowned culinary and hospitality experts, and the world-class design team involved. The legacy of M. Leo Elliott's designs, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, continues to influence and inspire, as noted by Rodney Kite-Powell from the Tampa Bay History Center.
