The Innovate, a nonprofit arts and cultural center a part of the Royal Poinciana Playhouse redevelopment, will open to the public in 2025 with year-round performing arts

The Innovate, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, is set to become Palm Beach’s premier waterfront arts and cultural center, opening to the public in 2025. With a mission to inspire audiences, deepen human connections through the arts, and foster economic growth, The Innovate will serve as a world-class venue for performing arts and events in Palm Beach.

This state-of-the-art, 24,000 sq. ft. multipurpose space will host a range of year-round activities, including performing arts, educational outreach, and community programs. The venue will feature a fully configurable, 400-seat jewel box theater and a full-service catering kitchen, available for events throughout the year. By welcoming international artists and providing space for creativity and learning, The Innovate aims to position Palm Beach as a hub for culture and innovation.

A Transformative Addition to Palm Beach

Excitement is growing for this new cultural center, which will be a key part of the redevelopment of the Royal Poinciana Playhouse. The Innovate, chaired by Palm Beach resident Avie Glazer of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is expected to open in spring 2025.

Last month, Avie and his wife, Jill, hosted an event at their home to gather community members and discuss ways to support the new waterfront arts center. "To bring this vision to life, we've collaborated with outstanding architects, consultants, and theater specialists," Glazer shared. "Our goal is to enrich the quality of life in Palm Beach and offer numerous ways for individuals and businesses to engage with this transformative project."

The center will be located at 70 Royal Poinciana Plaza, featuring a 400-seat theater and hosting diverse programming throughout the year. The Glazers have also launched the "Take a Seat" campaign, encouraging community members to support the center by underwriting a theater seat for $5,000, which includes an inscribed brass plaque.

Revitalizing the Royal Poinciana Playhouse

The redevelopment of the Royal Poinciana Playhouse will also include Tutto Mare, a fine dining restaurant, which received Town Council approval in December. This development aims to transform the site into a vibrant entertainment hub for Palm Beach, replacing the long-vacant venue with a dynamic cultural center.

Although there were concerns about the extent of the original playhouse's demolition, the future promises a revitalized space for the community. The new theater will provide much-needed space for local performing groups, such as the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach, addressing the shortage of performance venues in South Florida.

As Palm Beach and West Palm Beach continue to grow, The Innovate will meet the increasing demand for cultural offerings. While it won't replace the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, it will provide residents with a convenient, high-quality venue for enjoying the arts.
