Located on Union Avenue and Front Street, work on the 122,000-square-foot Memphis Art Museum officially broke ground in July 2023. The new Memphis Art Museum will offer 50% more gallery space and 600% more art-filled spaces than its predecessor. It will also feature a 10,000-square-foot courtyard, a shared pedestrian plaza with the Cossitt Library, and a rooftop with views of the Mississippi River and Downtown Memphis.
