In Wellington, a transformative initiative is underway, spearheaded by Jon Bostic, a renowned football linebacker with the Washington Commanders. This endeavor, the Wellington Sports Academy, is set to revolutionize a previously underused park into a premier sports training hub. With a budget of $38 million, the project is on track for a groundbreaking in July and aims for completion by fall 2024.
Bostic, a Wellington native and NFL star, has been instrumental in driving this project forward. The academy, which will occupy 17.2 acres of what is currently Wellington Community Park, will feature a comprehensive array of facilities catering to various sports. The main building alone will encompass over 100,000 square feet, supplemented by a dedicated baseball and softball complex.

Bostic's vision extends beyond creating a sports facility; it's about impacting young lives daily. His journey from Palm Beach Central High School to the NFL, influenced by his father John Bostic, a former Detroit Lions player, and mentor Larry Little, has inspired him to give back to his community.
The Wellington Sports Academy will cater to a wide range of sports, employing top coaches in each discipline. It aims to nurture young athletes, recognizing that talent and potential extend beyond conventional sports scholarships.
Bostic emphasizes the academy's inclusive approach, catering to both male and female athletes, with a particular focus on sports like volleyball and softball. The academy, while comprehensive, will have Bostic Sports Performance at its core, offering specialized training across various sports disciplines.
This project represents more than just a sports facility; it's a commitment to nurturing young talent, providing guidance, and offering opportunities for athletes to realize their dreams. Bostic's personal journey and professional success are at the heart of this endeavor, making the Wellington Sports Academy a beacon of hope and excellence in sports training.
