TikTok has finalized its decision to establish a permanent office in Nashville, selecting the Moore Building on Music Row as its new base. The social media powerhouse will occupy the 12th and 13th floors of this Midtown landmark at 827 19th Ave. S., as revealed in a recent permit filing. This move marks a significant step for TikTok, which previously operated from a temporary space in downtown's One Nashville tower since 2021.
The new office, set to house TikTok's United States Data Security team, spans approximately 58,000 square feet across the two floors. The office design, led by Gensler's Nashville branch, plans for a modern workspace featuring open office areas, private offices, meeting rooms, and a break area, with construction costs estimated at $2.8 million.
The Moore Building, a recent addition to Music Row, developed by Portman Holdings and Creed Investment Co., opened its doors in May. This 15-story structure offers 231,000 square feet of office space and 8,500 square feet of retail on the ground floor. TikTok's move into this building emphasizes Nashville's growing importance as a hub for tech and creative industries.
However, U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has voiced concerns over TikTok's expansion in Nashville, citing fears over China's influence through the app's parent company, ByteDance. Despite political opposition, TikTok's establishment in the Moore Building signals a commitment to its presence in Nashville, aligning with the city's vibrant music and tech scene.
