Tony Giarratana reveals new name for what will be the tallest tower in Tennessee

Updated: Jan 25

Tony Giarratana has unveiled the new name and renderings of his latest Church Street project as pre-sales begin for the tower’s condo units. Three years after announcing his most ambitious project, Tennessee's new tallest building, the 60-story tower has been rebranded as “Paramount.”

The tower will offer 360 apartments, 140 condos, and a 517-space parking garage. The project also includes a five-story, 60,000-square-foot addition to the YMCA. The $390 million development will have two amenity levels. The ninth floor will feature a residential lounge, demonstration kitchen, private dining room, fitness room and game room with a billiards table, as well as a pool area with cabanas and grilling stations. The 40th level will be dedicated to condo amenities including a lounge and bar area, 25-seat private dining room and a catering kitchen.

The Paramount site is currently being excavated, and construction is scheduled to begin later this year. Expected to complete in 2027, Paramount will be Giarratana’s first new condos in a decade. Nearby, Giarratana opened the 34-story Alcove apartment tower in May of last year and is nearing completion of the 38-story Prime apartment tower.

Giarratana is known for redeveloping Church Street, selecting the location of his most recent projects on the corridor due to its proximity to Nashville Yards, which he thinks "will shift the epicenter of downtown.” The veteran developer shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Giarratana recently landed a permit for a 33-story tower near Tennessee State University’s downtown campus and revealed plans for a 17-story apartment tower on Elliston Place earlier this week.
