Universal Orlando announces May 2025 opening for highly anticipated Epic Universe

Universal Orlando has officially announced that the highly anticipated Epic Universe theme park will be opening its gates on May 22, 2025, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. This new park will be Universal’s third and largest, part of a massive 750-acre development that will significantly expand the resort’s Orlando footprint, which currently includes two theme parks and a water park.

Epic Universe will feature five unique "worlds," including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and the central hub, Celestial Park.

Industry expert Dennis Speigel, founder and CEO of International Theme Park Services, expects Epic Universe to draw in over 6 million visitors in its first year. He noted that Universal's parks have gained massive momentum since introducing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in 2010, setting up a fierce competition with Disney, which hasn't opened a new park in Central Florida since 1998.

Ticket sales for Epic Universe will begin in phases starting October 22, with vacation packages and multi-day tickets being offered initially. Annual passholders will have early access to single-day tickets on October 24.

In addition to the park, a 500-room Loews hotel, Universal Helios Grand Hotel, will open on May 22, 2025, offering direct access to Epic Universe.
